Thursday Aug. 4, 1842   Charlotte Journal
   DIED, in Charlotte, on Friday evening last, MR. ROBERT COLLINS, aged about 
40 years. MR. COLLINS came to town on Monday and when returning home in the 
evening in attempting to alight from his saddle horse, he fell, and before he 
could recover himself, the forewheel of the wagon ran over and badly fractured 
his right leg just above the ankle. Medical aid was called in, but the wound 
was of such a nature that mortification took place and had hurried an 
industrious citizen into eternity almost without a moment's warning.
