Jan. 13, 1836,  Charlotte Journal
   DIED, in Mecklenburg, on the 6th inst., MR. CHARLES ELMS SR., in the 78th 
year of his age. MR. ELMS was a Revolutionary Soldier -- continued in arms 
during the whole struggle -- participated in nearly all the important battles, 
and at its close retired again to private life, with many honorable scars to 
testify to his defence of the country.
