Sept. 24, 1840   Charlotte Journal
   DIED, at Irwinton, Ala., on the 18th ult., the REV. STANHOPE W. ERWIN. REV. 
ERWIN is well known to many citizens of Mecklenburg County, and he has no 
doubt many warm friends who will regret to hear of his early demise. He was 
Pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Irwinton.
