Dec. 2, 1836  Charlotte Journal
   MELANCHOLY DEATH -- DR. WILLIAM FLINN of Mecklenburg, was found dead in the 
road about three miles from Charlotte by some wagoners on Wednesday last. On 
being examined by a physician it was discovered that his back was broken in 
two pierces. This accident is supposed to have been occasioned by his being 
thrown out of his sulkey. He was a young man of steady and correct deportment, 
and respected by those acquainted with him. He has left a wife to mourn his 
sudden death.
