Funeral of Mr. Hirst This Morning.

The funeral of Mr. Miles Hirst, who, as mentioned, died Friday afternoon at his 
home, corner of Eighth and Smith street, will be held at his late residence 
this morning at 9:30.

Mr. Hirst was born in Cornwall, England on June 4th, 64 years ago.  He came to 
America when he was 18 years of age, settling in Pennsylvania.  About 25 years 
ago he came to Charlotte.  Here he married and reared a family of six 
children.  He was a thoughtful and loving husband and father, kind and 
charitable to the poor and those in distress.  He was honored by those who knew 
him as a straightforward business man.  He united with the Church under the 
preaching of Mr. Butt several years ago.  He said he was not afraid to die, and 
that all was well.
