Feb. 11, 1847     Charlotte Journal
   DIED, the REV. JAMES JENKINS of the Methodist Episcopal Church, departed 
this life in Charlotte on Sunday night last, at the advanced aged of 83 years. 
He was one of the early pioneers of Methodism in the Southern States and has 
been a regular and constant Preacher of the Gospel for 53 years.
