JOHN LEE LAWLESS

   CHARLOTTE, N.C. – John Lee Lawless, a former resident of Franklin, died 
Wednesday afternoon in the home of his daughter in Charlotte after a short 
illness.

   He was the husband of Mrs. Mary Lawless of Charlotte and a son of the late 
Dr. and Mrs. J.L. Lawless. His father formerly was pastor of Franklin Baptist 
Church.

   Besides his widow and daughter, surviving are two other daughters, two sons, 
and three sisters, Mrs. W.H. Arthur of Franklin and Mrs. Emily Nunnally of 
Alexandria and Mrs. D. Hill Stevens of Charlottesville.

   Burial was in Charlotte Saturday afternoon.
