LAWRENCE'S FUNERAL Impressive Service Held at the Home Yesterday Afternoon. The funeral of Mrs. N. M. Lawrence, whose death occurred Monday at noon, took place yesterday afternoon at the residence 510 Kingston avenue, Dilworth, at 5 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. Dr. T. F. Marr, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. O. L. Ervin, pastor of the Dilworth Methodist Church. Mrs. Thoms C. Guthrie, Mrs. J. S. Wray, Miss Evelyn Johnston and Mr. John Watson sang "How Firm a Foundation" and "Jesus Lover of My Soul." Doctor Marr spoke of the deep devotion and loyalty of the deceased to her Master and her unselfishness and her many deeds of charity, saying that such a life is a sermon and leaves its impression on the community. there were quantities of beautiful flowers, expressions of sympathy from devoted friends. The interment took place at Elmwood and Mrs. Guthrie, Mrs. Wray and Miss Johnston sang softly "Asleep in Jesus." Mr. Frank Lawrence of New York and Mr. Irwin Potts of Savannah, Ga., son and grandson of the deceased arrived in the city yesterday to attend the funeral. Mrs. H. L. Skinner of Smithfield and Mrs. N. H. Cannady of Oxford, daughters of Mrs. Lawrence, arrived Monday night.
