Ogden, Aged Father of Mrs. E.P. Tingley, Passes Away - Served with Colonel Doniphan in Memorable Struggle - Burial in Cincinnati, O. Mr. H.T. Ogden, the aged father of Mrs. E.P. Tingley, passed away at her home in Dilworth yesterday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock after a brief illness. Mr. Ogden was 85 years of age and a veteran of the Mexican War. Her served as lieutenant in Colonel Doniphan's expedition which went out from Missouri and was wounded in that memorable campaign. For the past three years he has been making his home in Charlotte and was a conspicuous figure on the streets, very tall and as erect as a pine. One other child survives him, Mr. H.M. Odgen, of Memphis, Tenn. The remains will be shipped to Cincinnati, O., leaving Charlotte tomorrow morning for burial.
