Charlotte News January 19 1928
 
James Leo Owens, age 36, of Hoskins, died Thursday morning at 2 o'clock after 
a brief illness. He leaves his mother Mrs. Thomas Owens of Greenville SC; his 
wife, Annie Mae Chapman Owens, four children,Ruth, Irene, John and Arthur Ray 
Owens, all of this city, nine brothers and two sisters. Funeral arrangements 
had not been made Thursday at noon.
