June 12, 1846        Charlotte Journal
   DIED, in Mecklenburg, on the 13th of April, MARY PHARR, youngest daughter 
of FRANKLIN STAFFORD, ESQ., of pneumonia, aged 11 years.
   In the death of this most amiable child her relatives are almost 
overwhelmed with grief. She was the joy of many hearts; she was all that 
remained of her departed mother, and she promised to be a rich treasure in 
coming years. It was the devotedness of her attachment to her father, her only 
sisters, her uncles and aunts, that now leaves in their afflicted hearts so 
deep a feeling of their bereavement.
