C., Chester was the daughter of Beverly Townsend Sustare and Nannie Clara Williams Sustare. She was the grand-daughter of William Wright Williams and Lula Estelle Boatwright Williams and of Barnum Alexander Sustare and Sarah Amanda Ferguson Sustare. She was the wife of the late Robert William Sutton of Norfolk. Chester attended Sullins College. After attending Sullins College, Bob and Chester enjoyed 54 years of marriage. Chester was an avid homemaker and enjoyed artistic pursuits of pastels, floral arrangements, oil painting, and ceramics. Chester always completed any task in a beautiful way with attention to every detail. Chester is dearly loved by her children and was an inspiring role model to her husband, children, relatives and friends and a spirited individual. Chester was a member of Elizabeth River Woman's Club and Norfolk Yacht and Country Club. Chester is survived by her children, Nancy Townsend Sutton Nowlan of Suffolk and her husband, Thomas Wayne Nowlan, Carol Lorraine Sutton and her husband, Andre J.L. Fauteux of Toronto, Canada, and Robert Porter Sutton and his wife, Marcia Shipp Sutton of Dunedin, Fla. Survivors also include her grand-children, Amy Elizabeth Sutton of Jacksonville, Fla., Eric Townsend Sutton of Huntington Beach, Calif., Margot Elaine Nowlan of Suffolk, Viva-Laura Sutton-Fauteux and Yale Quentin Sutton-Fauteux of Toronto; and her brother, George Allen Sustare of Poquoson and his wife, Nancy J. Sustare, of Poquoson; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral will be conducted at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Carl LeMon officiating. The family will recieve friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and other times at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to Maryview Medical Center, Care of Wellspring Hospice Program, 3636 High St., Portsmouth, Va 23707, the American Heart Association or to the Larchmont Baptist Church, 1127 Surry Crescent, Norfolk, Va. 23508."
