Miss Edith Thompson, daughter of Mrs. Hattie C. Thompson and one of the city's most popular young women died last night at midnight at the Presbyterian hospital. Funeral arrangements were not made last night, but it was planned to hold the services sometime Saturday. Interment will be in the cemetery of Steel Creek Presbyterian church. Miss Thompson's home was on West Fourth street. Surviving besides her mother are three sisters, Mrs. S.E. Pugh of Crozet, Va, Mrs. L.B. Freeman of Gastonia and Miss Jessie Thompson of Charlotte, and one borther, J.J. Thompson of Charlotte. Miss Thompson for several years had been employed at Van Ness Art shop and was beloved by a wide circle of friends. She was a devoted member of the Second Presbyterian church in the activities of which she displayed much interest.
