Thursday Sept. 12, 1842   Charlotte Journal
   DIED, in Mecklenburg, on the 8th of August last, of congestive fever, MR. 
JOHN TYR, aged about 46 years. The deceased was a good citizen and kind 
neighbor, and truly called an exemplar in secular, as well as spiritual 
matters. Nearly all his family was sick at the same time and about a week 
before his death one of his daughters, aged 15, died.
