Watt, died at the home of her mother, Mrs. William J. Yates, in this city, at 9:25 o'clock last Saturday night, after a long and wasting sickness. Her serious condition had been known by her friends for some months past, yet they hoped even against hope, and when the end came, it proved a shock. Mrs. Watt was in her 28th year, and had been married not quite two years. She was a lady of the most amiable traits of character, and was loved by all who knew her. She bore her long sufferings patiently and with the resignation of a true Christian. The end found her ready and willing for the change, and she passed peacefully away to take up her abode in the house not made with hands. The funeral services were conducted from the First Presbyterian Church at 3 o'clock this afternoon by Dr. A.W. Miller, and were attended by a large concourse of sympathetic friends. The pall bearers were Messrs. Paul Wilkes, W.H. Justice, Heriot Clarkson, R.A. Dunn, Thos. Reese, R.H. Jordan, K.S. Finch and E.B. Springs. At the conclusion of the services at the church, the body was borne to its final resting place in beautiful Elmwood, to rest in glorious shine and sombre shadow until the resurrection morn.
