Aug. 30, 1844,   Charlotte Journal
   DIED, in Mecklenburg, on Thursday morning, the 8th inst., JAMES WILSON, 
ESQ., in the 74th year of his age. For many years he held the office of 
Sheriff, and discharged its duties so as to secure the approbation of his 
fellow citizens. He was a Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church for more 
thant 20 years.
