ZEB THOMAS WOODY 

BAKERSVILLE - Zeb Thomas Woody, 77, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006 at his home. He 
was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Carrie Woody. He was also 
preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Greene, Shirley McCray, Pearl 
Peterson, and Beryl Bennett; and one daughter, Lisa Annette Woody. He was a 
member of Roan Mountain Baptist Church. He and his wife owned and operated 
Woody's Electric, Plumbing and Heating for over 50 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Whitson Woody of the home; two sons, Harvey 
Thomas Woody and Shannon Woody; two daughters, Janice Silver and Becky Pate; 
sisters, Lucille Burleson, Barbara Taylor, and Gail Fowler, all of Johnson 
City, Tenn., Sue Greene, Matt Styles, of Bakersville; brothers, Alfred Woody 
and Charles Woody, of Bakersville; eight grandchildren; and two great-
grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Roan Mountain Baptist Church. 
The Revs. Mark McKinney, Paul Bennett and Don Stafford officiated. Burial 
followed in Green B. Young Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. 
until the service hour Sunday at the church. Memorial donations may be made to 
Gideons International, Mitchell County Camp, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
