Charlotte Observer
14 Nov 1895

Early vows will be heard in St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran church this 
morning. At 9 o'clock Miss Bessie Bowman, daughter of Rev. Dr. Bowman, will be 
married to Dr. W.J. Olds, of Washington. There will be no attendants. Miss Nan 
Dowd will play the march. Rev. Dr. Bowman will perform the ceremony. The 
bride, although comparatively a stranger here, has made a number of friends 
since she came to Charlotte to live, and those who know her best can most 
sincerely congratulate Dr. Olds upon his good fortune. The groom is employed 
in the weather bureau in Washington. He has a responsible position there and 
is well thought of. Dr. and Mrs. Olds leave on the vestibule for Atlanta.
