Alexander Turns from One to the Other Mr. Lem Irwin and Miss Harrison, of Lemley's, were married one day last week under rather unusual circumstances. Mr. W.H. Potts died and 'Squire' Robert D. Alexander, of Lemley's, offered to drive Mrs. Potts and the children to the burying ground. The funeral procession started at the appointed time. When they had gone some distance a man rode up to Mr. Alexander's buggy and told him he must stop; that there was a party who wanted to see him and he must stop and go back with him. Mr. Alexander replied that he could not stop then, and drove on. He had gone but a short distance when he was stopped by another man, who delivered a message, in language the same as the first, only more imperative. Mr. Alexander began to feel irritated and replied that that was not the time nor place for a man to demand to see him. He had not gone far when a third man stopped him and said he must come back and come at once. Mr. Alexander again replied that he would not. The man said: "Why, you don't understand. There's a couple back there that wants you to marry them and you must come." Mr. Alexander gave his place in his buggy to some one else, and went back and married the couple, who were Mr. Irwin and Miss Harrison.
