Miss Lilla Sadler entertained at a delightful party at her home in Steele 
Creek yesterday afternoon at which she announced the engagement of Miss Mary 
Bobbitt of this city and Mr. Lamar Potts of Steele Creek, the wedding to occur 
in October. Tables were arranged for progressive hearts and the prize for the 
top score was won by Miss Mary Bell Ardrey of Pineville. At the conclusion of 
the game Master James Pierce Sadler, the handsome little son of Mr. and Mrs. 
J.O. Sadler, of Jacksonville, Fla., nephew of the hostess, entered crying an 
extra, "All about Miss Mary Bobbitt." The miniature newspaper contained the 
announcement of the engagement. 

Ice cream, cake and punch were served by Miss Sadler. The home was beautifully 
decorated in yellow and white blossums. The guests present were: Misses Mary 
Bobbitt, Susie Bobbitt, Anna Hoggard, Mary Price, Terry, Ada, Mabel and Macey 
Potts, Mary Robertson of Marion, Ga., Kate Watt, Kate Porter, Louise Alexander 
of Sharon, Maud Hayes, Louise Alexander of Steele Creek, Mary Howie, Mary 
Choate, Ruth and Evelyn Sadler, Elva and Grace McDowell, Mesdames J.W. Sadler, 
Harris McDonald Neely, Clarence Choate and W.F. Watt. 

The bride-elect is a bright and accomplished young woman and for the past 
several years has been a valuable member of the faculty of the county schools. 
Last year she taught at Providence. She is admired by a wide circle of friends 
in the city and county.
