10 Jul 1900

Miss Ella Lassiter was married to Mr. Walden Gardner last night at 9 o'clock 
at St. Peter's Episcopal church by Bishop Cheshire. Miss Addie Williams played 
the wedding march. Miss Lassiter came in on the arm of her uncle, Mr. J.A. 
Jones, of this place and Mr. Adlai Osborne acted as best man for Mr. Gardner. 
The young couple left as soon as the ceremony was over for Asheville, on a 
short bridal tour. The bride has been in Charlotte for several years and is 
popular in this city. She is pretty and attractive. The groom is a jeweler on 
North Tryon street, and has lived in Charlotte for some time. Mr. and Mrs. 
Gardner will make Charlotte their home.
