Mecklenburg COUNTY, NC - WILLS - James Faires, 2 May 1808 ----¤¤¤---- Will of James Faires, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina on the cover for the will: Last Will & Testament of James Fairis Deceased July Term 1808 Copied Registered in Book C page 81 In the Name of God, Amen. I James Faires of the County Of Mecklenburg & State of North Carolina Being sick & weak in body but of perfect sound mind and Memory (blessed be God for his mercies) Do hereby make constitute and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. Revoking and making void all former Wills Legacies and bequests by me heretofore made or willed- Imprimis. I Will and Bequeath to my Brother John Faires all and singular my whole Estate real and personal of whatsoever kind or Denomination it may be upon the Express conditions hereinafter mentioned viz 1st. That he pay to my sister Mary Wright the sum of Fifty pounds sterling which is to be divided among her Children at her death as she thinks proper 2d. That my Brother John pay to my sister Ann Neapper the Interest of one thousand Dollars during his life and at his Death the aforesaid one thousand Dollars be equally Divided between her two Children and if either of said Children should die before the[y] are of age or have lawful issue, then the aforesaid one thousand Dollars shall be paid to the survivor- and if Both should die then the aforesaid one thousand Dollars shall be divided among my relations at the discretion of my executor 3d. That my Executor pay to my brother William Faires the sum of three thousand Dollars as soon as it can be collected out of the Debts due to me in the County of Mecklenburg- 4th. That my Executor pay to Alexander Wilson fifty pound sterling also that he pay to each of his Children by my sister Jane viz Mary=Ann [sic] John and Alexander the sum of Fifty pounds sterling Lastly all the remainder of my Estate after paying the aforesaid Legacies and all my Just Debts I will to my Brother John Faires his Heirs and assigns forever. And I do hereby Constitute and appoint my Brother John Faires whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament with full power and authority to Execute the same in the manner he may Deem most to the advantage of my Estate- In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the second day of May 1808. and in the Thirty second year of American Independence [signed] James Faires Witness [signed] Isaac Alexander [signed] Will Carson [signed] Geo.
