Mitchell County, NC - Slagle Cemetery at Fork Mountain

SLAGLE CEMETERY (FORK MT.)

LOCATION: From the intersection of Route 261 with Fork Mountain Rd., drive 
west 0.2 miles on the latter road.  Turn right and drive up Cook Rd., for 
about 0.2 miles.  The cemetery is on your left, back in the trees.

ACCESSIBILITY: Easy.  You can park at the entrance.

CONDITION: Very good.   There are three very large seemingly empty spaces in 
the grave area.  Here are presumably dozens and dozens of  "unknowns', with 
all markers having been removed.  The cemetery is quite old (and interesting).
