JAMES H. ACUFF 

SPRUCE PINE - James H. Acuff Sr., "Jim" passed away Saturday July 22, 2006 at 
his home. Born Nov. 4, 1937 in Table Rock, he was the son of the late Fred and 
Marie (Foster) Acuff. He was preceded in death by a brother Foster Morgan, 
Sr., a sister Virginia Breen and his wife Billie Jean Powell Acuff.

He is survived by his wife Ada Jane (Queen) Acuff, daughter Carrol Harvey of 
Colorado Springs, Colo., son James H. Acuff, Jr., daughter Robin Ellis, son 
Joseph Acuff, all of Spruce Pine, and daughter Jennifer DeAlmeida of 
Statesville. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 
Jim also leaves behind brothers Ernest Morgan Jr. and Fred Acuff of Table Rock 
Community and Calvin Acuff Sr. of Glen Alpine. 

A memorial service was held Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at the Liberty Hill Baptist 
Church. Interment was in the Table Rock Seventh-Day Adventist Church Cemetery 
in Burke County. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to 
Muscular Dystrophy Association.
