MILTON AVERY ANDERSON JR. 

BAKERSVILLE - Milton Avery (Dick) Anderson Jr., Highway 226N, died Tuesday, 
Feb. 28, 2006 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. He was the son of the late 
Milton Avery and Sarah Parson Anderson. He was also preceded in death by a 
brother, John Anderson, and two sisters, Nora Ellen and Stella. He was a U.S. 
Army veteran and retired from First Union Bank after 30 years of service. He 
was a Mason and member of Bakersville Baptist Church, where he had served as a 
deacon and treasurer.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lee Green Anderson of the home; one son, 
William (Bill) Avery Anderson of Lynchburg, VA; one brother, Joe Anderson of 
Lake Norman; five nephews; and two nieces. 

Funeral services were held Friday at Bakersville Baptist Church. Burial 
followed in Bakersville Memorial Cemetery with graveside services by 
Bakersville Masonic Lodge #357 AF&AM. The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. 
Thursday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville.
