EDNA BURLESON ALDRIDGE
PLUMTREE - Edna Burleson Aldridge, 79, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002. She 
was the daughter of the late William and Bertie Stamey Carpenter. She 
was also preceded in death by her husbands, C.W. Burleson Jr. and Donely 
C. Aldridge; a brother, Sam Carpenter; and a sister, Nancy Sue Ballew. A 
postal assistant at Plumtree Post Office, she was a long-standing member 
of Plumtree Presbyterian Church, where she was treasurer.
Survivors include one daughter, Clara Dickson of Newland; a son, Donely 
Christopher Aldridge of Lexington, KY; a step-daughter, Donna G. Deaton 
of Old Fort; three brothers, Arnold, Schyler Jr., and Max Carpenter; two 
sisters, Ellen Carpenter and Carolyn Weller; five grandchildren; four 
great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and eight step-great 
grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Plumtree Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. 
Monday. Revs. Wallace Wise and Gordon Williams officiated. Memorial 
donations may be made to Plumtree Presbyterian Church.
