MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Virginia Elizabeth Arges, 6 Jun 2005

DURHAM - Virginia Elizabeth Arges died June 6th, at her home in Durham. She
was a native of Mitchell and McDowell counties. Elizabeth was preceded in
death by her husband, K. Pete Arges; her father, Fred McFarlan Hollifield; her
mother, Fannie Renfro Hollifield; brothers, Jackie Hollifield and James
McFarlan Hollifield; and a sister Naomi Sparks.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Arges and Jim Arges both of Durham: three
sisters, Ruth Young of Durham, Lois Young of Raleigh, and June Pannell of
Bakersville: brother, Fred Hollifield of Durham, and five grandchildren. 

The funeral services were held at Watts Street Baptist Chruch with Rev. Mel
Williams and Rev. Diane Eubanks Hill officiating. The family received friends
from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.Burial was
Friday at the Snow Hill Cemetery on Slagle Road in Bakersville.
