BETSY BEERS 

NEWLAND - Betsy Mayberry Beers, 88, of Dave Beers Lane, died Monday, March 20, 
2006 in a Linville hospital. She was the daughter of the late Jim and Haley 
Hoilman Mayberry, and wife of the late David G. Beers Sr. She was also preceded 
in death by a son, David G. Beers Jr. She was a member of Belview Baptist 
Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Daisy Trivette of Plumtree, and Rita Taylor of 
Lenoir; four grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Belview Baptist Church. Revs. 
Doug Bare, Tommy Carver, and Brent Price officiated. Burial was in the Beers 
Family Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the 
church. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine was in charge of arrangements.
