Earl Bennett 


    Earl Bennett, 96, 119 Troy Pierce Road, Elizabethton, went to be with the 
Lord Sunday, August 27, 2006, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. 


    Mr. Bennett was a native of Mitchell County, N.C., having moved to 
Limestone Cove community, Unicoi, in 1979 and then to Elizabethton in 2002. He 
was a son of the late Honley and Trissie Tipton Bennett. In addition to his 
parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Randolph Bennett, in 1993, 
and by his brothers and sisters. 


    Mr. Bennett was a retired logger and farmer. He was a member of Brummit's 
Creek Church of the Brethren and had attended Limestone Cove Christian Church. 


    Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Jimmy 
Honeycutt, Elizabethton, and Karen and James Lance, Unicoi; a granddaughter, 
Holly Wiseman and her husband Glen, Elizabethton; and a great-
grandson, "special little buddy" Peyton Wiseman. Several nieces, nephews and 
friends also survive. 


    Funeral services for Mr. Bennett will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, August 
29, at the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charlie Trivette and Rev. 
Randy Johnson officiating. Music will be provided by Inez Chandler. Active 
pallbearers will be Glen Wiseman, Sam Harrison, Lawrence Shell, Robert Gouge, 
Wayne Bennett and Jeremy Adkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Roberson, 
Edwin Randolph, McCoy Randolph, Cliff Adkins, A.D. Harrell, Charlie Cargile, 
Floyd Lambert and Lloyd Garland. Committal services will be at 11 a.m. 
Wednesday, August 30, at Davis Gouge Cemetery, Limestone Cove community. 
Family, ministers, pallbearers and friends are requested to meet at the 
funeral home by 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The 
family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and 
other times at the residence, 119 Troy Pierce Road, Elizabethton. The family 
would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Life Care Center of 
Elizabethton, Dr. Vivian Clark and Dr. Diane Campbell. Online condolences may
