PEARL BARNETT BENNETT 

GREEN MOUNTAIN - Pearl Barnett Bennett, 86, of Byrd Creek Road, died Monday, 
Nov. 13, 2006 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was the daughter of the 
late Woodard and Martha Willis Barnett, and wife of the late Glen Bennett. She 
was also preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Barnett; and a sister, Reed 
Barnett. A homemaker, she was a member of Pigeon Roost Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Peterson; sisters, Lola Barnett, Della 
Miller and Helen Sturgill; brothers, Clifford and Carl Barnett; and two 
grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pigeon Roost Freewill Baptist 
Church. Rev. Marvin Miller officiated. Burial followed in Bennett Cemetery. 
The family received friends from 2 p.m. until the service hour at the church. 
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Mitchell County, P.O. Box 38, 
Spruce Pine, NC 28777. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville assisted the 
family.
