HARRIETT PITMAN BIDDIX 

SPRUCE PINE - Harriett Pitman Biddix, 86, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2006. She was 
the daughter of the late Greene and Maggie Pitman, and wife of the late Ernest 
David "Mutt" Biddix. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Jimmie; 
brothers Weldon and Andrew Pitman; and a sister, Mary Sparks. She was a member 
of Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Spruce Pine.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean Buchanan of Old Fort and Peggy Riddle of 
Spruce Pine; one son, David Biddix of Spruce Pine; a brother, Billy J. Pittman 
of Bakersville; two sisters, Lucy Dellinger of Spruce Pine and Lennie Mae 
Pittman of Bakersville; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Mount Carmel Baptist Church. 
Burial was in Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family received friends from 2:30 
p.m. until the service hour at the church. Memorial donations may be made to 
Hospice of Mitchell County, P.O. Box 38, Spruce Pine, NC 28777; or to the 
Spruce Pine Brian Center Activities Fund. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine 
assisted the family.
