ROBERT CARTER BIDDIX 

SPRUCE PINE - Robert "Carter" Biddix, 89, of the Altapass community, died 
Friday, March 9, 2007 at Brian Center Healthcare in Spruce Pine. He was the 
son of the late Bob and Lissie Biddix, and husband of the late Ruby Biddix. He 
was also preceded in death by two daughters, Lois Anita “Pete” Biddix, and 
Melba Carroll; and one granddaughter, Dawn Carroll Buchanan. He was a retired 
railroad man and a founding member of Altapass Church of God.

Survivors include two brothers, Graham and Ralph Biddix; two half brothers, 
Jack and Terry McKinney; one sister, Ardella Hall; three half sisters, Sadie 
Andrews, Gertie Johnson and Theresa Newton; four grandchildren; and 12 great-
grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Altapass Church of God. Revs. 
Bill Mitchell, Cameron Smith and Nathan Silver officiated. Burial was in 
McKinney Gap Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service was held from 6-9 p.m. 
Saturday, and Sunday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour at the church. Webb 
Funeral Home in Spruce Pine assisted the family.
