ALMA MCCOURRY BLACKBURN 

BLACK MOUNTAIN - Alma McCourry Blackburn, 89, formerly of Bakersville, died 
Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006 at Mountain Ridge Wellness Center. She was the 
daughter of the late I.E. and Rowena Buchanan McCourry. She was preceded in 
death by two sons, Jackie and James Blackburn.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Rice of Old Fort; one brother, Jack 
McCourry of Charleston, VA; one sister, Charlotte Muriel of Canton, OH; six 
grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. 

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Webb Funeral Home in Spruce 
Pine. Rev. Jerry Lewis officiated. Burial was in Bear Creek Baptist Church 
Cemetery. The family received friends from 2 p.m. until the service hour 
Saturday at the funeral home.
