Henline-Hughes Funeral Home
Lucille Buchanan Boone, age 83 of Lawndale NC passed away January 2, 2009 at 
her daughters home in Bakersville, NC. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC 
and the daughter of the late Jess and Ella Mae Grindstaff Buchanan. She was 
retired from Ellen Knitting Mills. She was a member of Friendly Chapel Baptist 
Church in Lawndale NC. She was active in the Women's Ministry of The Church. 

Survivors include; husband,Reverend Wade Boone, of the home, one daughter, 
Karen Boone Wright and husband Lanny, of Bakersville, NC, son, Phillip Keith 
Boone, and wife Nina, of Burnsville, NC, one brother, Burl Ray Buchanan, of 
Bakersville, NC, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren. She was 
preceded in death by; daughter, Alesia K. Grindstaff, one sister, Pauline 
Grindstaff, and two brothers, Quentin, and Bill Buchanan. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 5 at 8:00PM in the chapel of 
Henline - Hughes Funeral Home with Wilbur Edmundsten, Howard Wilson, and Curtis 
Carroll officiating the family will receive friends two hours prior to the 
service. Interment will be Tuesday, January 6 at 11:00AM at Rebels Creek 
Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to; Hospice of Mitchell County PO Box 38 
Spruce Pine, NC 28777, or Gideons International Mitchell County Camp, PO Box 
611 Spruce Pine NC 28777.
