Oakville Man
Dies at Salem
   Joseph D. Bowman, 82, resident of RFD No. 3 in the Oakville community, died 
at a Salem hospital Saturday and will be buried in the Oakville cemetery 
Wednesday following services to be conducted here in the Fisher Funeral Home 
at 10:30 a.m.
   A native of Bakersville, N.C., born Jan. 4, 1875, Mr. Bowman moved to Bend, 
and 18 years ago to Linn county.  On June 2, 1904 at Bakersville he married 
Annie Lee Penland, who died May 20, 1956.
   Surviving are two children, Mrs. Mildred A. Tittle, Oakville and James Ray 
Bowman, Sierra Madre, Cal.; a sister, Mrs. Mayme Powell, Portland and five 
grandchildren.
