ALBERT BUCHANAN 

SANTA BARBARA, CA - Albert (Huck) Buchanan, 76, died Monday, March 17, 2008. 
Born in Mitchell County, he was retired from the United States Air Force and 
Martin Marietta. He was a member of McKinney Cove Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Sabrina Sloat of Reno, Nev., and Sabra Dea 
Buchanan and Ashzra Dea of Coronado, Calif.; a son, Kit Ira Buchanan of 
Burlington, Vt.; one sister, Thelma Ayers of Bakersville; brothers George and 
Carlos Buchanan, both of Bakersville, J.C. Buchanan of Mid West  City, Okla., 
and Arthur Buchanan of Sultan, Wash.; and one grandson. 

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. The Rev. Don Ford officiated. Burial was at 2 
p.m. Sunday at McKinney Cove Cemetery. The Rev. Don Stafford officiated with 
military rites by Shaw Air Force Base Honor Guard. The family received friends 
from 6 p.m. until the service hour Saturday at the funeral home.
