ETTA BUCHANAN 

SPRUCE PINE - Etta Buchanan, 91, of Weatherman Road, died Sunday, April 16, 
2006 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Lewis and Mae McKinney 
Dellinger, and wife of the late Elbridge Buchanan. She was also preceded in 
death by a son, Marvin Buchanan, and two great grandchildren. She was a life-
long member of Henson Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Lawrence Buchanan of Newland, David (Clinton) 
Buchanan of Spruce Pine, and Ted Buchanan of Altamont; three daughters, Beulah 
Burleson of Spruce Pine, and Patsy Bowman and Doris Grindstaff, both of 
Newland; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Henson Creek Baptist Church. 
Rev. Earl Carver Jr. officiated. Burial was in Yellow Mountain Cemetery. The 
family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
