GLENN GEORGE BUCHANAN 

BAKERSVILLE - Glenn George Buchanan, 82, of Hwy. 80 Bakersville, died Sunday, 
July 23, 2006. He was a native of Mitchell County, and a Veteran of The United 
States Army. He was a member of Silver Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded 
in death by: parents, David and Minnie Chandler Buchanan, brothers, David 
Buchanan Jr., Brown Buchanan, and Lee Buchanan.

Survivors include: wife Deborah Ballew Buchanan of the home, sons, Larry Dean 
Buchanan, of Thomaston, Ga., Dennis G. Buchanan of Bakersville, three 
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 26 at 8 p.m. in Silver Chapel 
Baptist Church with Jonathan Thacker and Mark McKinney officiating. The family 
received friends two hours prior to the service. Interment was Thursday, July 
27 at 11 a.m. at Silver Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to; Gideons 
International Mitchell County Camp, PO Box 511, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
