JOSIE STEVENS BUCHANAN 

BAKERSVILLE - Josie Stevens Buchanan, 73, of Hobson Road, died Saturday, March 
31, 2007 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Jess and Clarisa 
Hoilman Stevens, and wife of the late Fred Marvis Buchanan. She was also 
preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Stevens.

Survivors include one son, Micky Buchanan of Bakersville; one daughter, Lelia 
Ellen Ledford; three sisters, Georgia Garland, Nell Ledford and Jacklyn 
Stockton, all of Bakersville; one grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Henline-Hughes 
Funeral Home in Bakersville. Clyde Thompson and Danny Silver officiated. 
Burial was at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Buchanan Cemetery in the Glen Ayre community. 
The family received friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour Tuesday at the 
funeral home.
