RUBY WINTERS BAKER

SPRUCE PINE - Ruby Winters Baker, 76, of Summitt Road, died Saturday, 
Aug. 2, 2003 in Brian Center Healthcare in Spruce Pine. A native of 
Avery County, she was the daughter of Barney and Annie Hughes Winters, 
and wife of the late Bill Baker Sr. She was a member of Spruce Pine First 
Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Silver of Spruce Pine; two sons, Bill 
Baker of Spear, and Charles Baker of Spruce Pine; five grandchildren; and 
one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in 
Spruce Pine. Rev. David Vess officiated. Burial followed in Spruce Pine 
Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the service 
hour at the church. Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville was in charge 
of arrangements.
