LEWIS BUCHANAN

BAKERSVILLE ­ Lewis Buchanan, 67, of Herb McKinney Road, died Friday, March
9, 2001 at his residence. He was the son of McKinley and Mae Buchanan. He
was also preceded in death by one brother, Henry Buchanan; and two sisters,
Ruth Hill and Louise Whorton. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, he was a
veteran of the U.S.Army.
Survivors include two sisters, Helen Beaver of Bakersville, and Mary Lee
McMahan of Burnsville; one brother, Guy Buchanan of Bakersville; and several
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Sunday. Revs. Don Stafford and Max
Holland officiated. Burial was in Buchanan Cemetery. The family received
friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service.
