JAMES WILLIAM BUCHANAN

BAKERSVILLE - James William Buchanan, 65, of Wilcox Drive, died 
Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. He was 
the son of the late Parnell and Bonnie Yelton Buchanan. He was also 
preceded in death by a sister, Nell Buchanan; and brothers, Eugene 
"Gene" Buchanan, and Carl "Junior" Winters. He was a mechanic and 
worked for Diamond Mica Company.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Wilcox Buchanan of the home; two 
sons, Jimmy Dean Buchanan of the home, and Randal Buchanan of 
Bakersville; two brothers, Donald and Dean Buchanan of Bakersville; 
and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Henline-
Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Max Holland, Lee Ayers and 
Paul Bennett officiated. Burial followed in Green Young Cemetery. 
The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour at 
the funeral home.
