BESSIE HOLDER BUCHANAN

BAKERSVILLE - Bessie Holder Buchanan, 84, of Hamburg Road, died 
Friday, Nov. 15 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was the 
daughter of the late Greenlee and Senia Ledford Holder, and wife 
of the late Baxter David Buchanan. She was a former employee of 
Ellen Knitting Mill and a homemaker. She was a member of Faith 
Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Smith of Fairview; one son, 
Rev. Ronald Buchanan of Bakersville; a brother, Roosevelt Holder 
of Florida; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Sunday inn the chapel of 
Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Rev. Skip Weiford 
officiated. burial was at 11 a.m. Monday in Cane Creek Cemetery. 
The family received friends two hours prior to the service at the 
funeral home.
