ALLIE PITTMAN BUCHANAN

BAKERSVILLE - Allie Pittman Buchanan, 87, of the Cane Creek community, 
died Sunday, Aug. 10. She was the daughter of the late William and 
Elizabeth Ledford Pittman, and wife of the late Edgar Buchanan. She 
was also preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Young. She was a 
member of Calvary Baptist Church..
Survivors include one son, Luther Buchanan of Gastonia; two daughters, 
June Bryant and Elizabeth Honeycutt, both of Bakersville; one brother, 
Holton Pittman of Detroit, MI; 13 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 
and five great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church. 
Revs. Don Stafford and Bob McCurry officiated. Burial followed in Cane 
Creek Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at 
Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Memorial donations may be 
made to Hospice of Mitchell County, P.O. Box 38, Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
