MITCHELL COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Lena Ruth Buchanan, 17 Dec 2003

BAKERSVILLE – Lena Ruth Buchanan, 85, of Highway 261, died Wednesday, 
Dec. 17, 2003 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Chet and 
Nola Buchanan Burleson, and wife of the late Jesse Buchanan. A dairy 
farmer and teacher aid, she attended Bakersville Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Styles of the home; a son, James 
Buchanan of Glen Ayre; sisters, Ora Smith of Hendersonville, and Helen 
Hobson of Little Rock Creek; three grandchildren; and several nieces 
and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Henline-Hughes Funeral 
Home in Bakesville. Revs. Larry Greene and Billy Stewart officiated. 
Burial followed in Leila Randolph Buchanan Cemetery in Glen Ayre. The 
family received friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour Friday.
