EDWARD DAVID BEAVER

BAKERSVILLE – Edward David Beaver, 73, of Ledford Ridge Lane, died Saturday, 
September 1, 2001 at his home. He was the son of Melvin and Sarah Briggs 
Beaver. A member of Calvary Baptist Church, he was retired from the North 
Carolina Department of Transportation.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Buchanan Beaver; three daughters, Sharon B. 
Webb and Susan B. Bennett, both of Bakersville, and Barbara B. Wright of North 
Cove; six sisters, Vivian Brooks of Burnsville, Vera Davis of Estatoe, Mary 
Lee Greene, Lucille Willis and Janet Beers, all of Newdale, and Glenna McFalls 
of Spruce Pine; two brothers, Herschel Beaver of Marion and Herman Beaver of 
Micaville; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church. Revs. 
Don Stafford and Vernon Buchanan officiated. Burial followed in Roan Mountain 
#2 Buchanan Cemetery. The family received friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday in the
chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Memorial donations may
