A native of Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Myra McGuire Trivett. She was a retired employee of Armord Garments in Marion and a member of Faith Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Benfield. Survivors include a son, Pat Benfield of Bakersville; two sisters, Frances Daniels of Plumtree, and Nell Maynor of Nebo; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Revs. Ken Murphy and Rose Wise officiated. Burial was Wednesday at Daniels Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service.
