JULIA SNYDER BLACKBURN
SPRUCE PINE – Julia Snyder Blackburn, 92, of Feldspar Street, died Tuesday, 
February 26, 2002 in Spruce Pine Community Hospital. She was the daughter of 
the late Frank and Maggie Pittman Synder, and wife of the late Arnold 
Blackburn. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Wilma Runion; one 
son, Donald Blackburn; five sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Greene and Doris Blackburn, both of 
Spruce Pine; one sister, Elva Stamey of Spruce Pine; three granddaughters; two 
step-grandsons; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Grindstaff Memorial 
Chapel of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. R.M. Cassity and Howard 
Buchanan officiated. Burial was in Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The 
family received friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
