GEORGE N. BLEVINS
BAKERSVILLE - George N. Blevins, 82, died at Johnson City Medical 
Center on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002. He was the son of the late Taylor 
D. and Inez Young Blevins. He was also preceded in death by a brother, 
James B. Blevins. He had been employed as a supervisor with USDA 
Farmers Home Administration. He was a member of Bakersville United 
Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a charter memberof 
the Bakersville Lions Club and delivered Meals on Wheels during the 
last three years.
Survivors include his wife, Marinette Cauble Blevins of the home; a 
daughter, Rebecca Davidson of Notasolga, AL; a son, Stephen Blevins 
of Weaverville; a brother, Robert Lee Blevins of Winston-Salem; and 
three grandsons.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Bakersville United 
Methodist Church. Rev. David Lee officiated. Burial was in Green 
Young Cemetery. The family received friends from 3-5 p.m. Saturday 
in the chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville. Memorial 
donations may be made to the church at: 307 Kona Road, Bakersville, 
NC 28705.
