MYRTLE JOHNSON BOONE

BAKERSVILLE - Myrtle Johnson Boone, 83, of the Rebels Creek community, 
died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003. She was the daughter of the late Wilbur and 
Bessie Johnson, and wife of the late Jeter Boone. She was also preceded 
in death by two brothers, N.E. Johnson and Elmer Johnson. She was a member 
of Minneapolis Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Lana Costner of Crossnore; sons, Larry Boone 
of Burnsville, and Jerry Boone of Sylva; eight grandchildren; and two great 
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Grindstaff Memorial Chapel 
of Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine. Revs. Wallace Wise and Joi Williams 
officiated. Burial was in Rebels Creek Cemetery. The family received friends 
from 1 p.m. until the service hour Sunday at the funeral home. memorial 
donations may be made to Mountain Trace Alzheimers and Dementia Care Unit, 
417 Mountain Trace Road, Sylva, NC 28779.
